How many Web Developers do you know who can build and optimize a website, shoot professional quality photos that turn heads, and create custom applications that make each site he touches the ‘go to’ resource for an entire industry?
Right, none.
Well, make that one. Meet my friend and ‘Cool Person You Should Know’ Dan Russell.
Master of ‘Syrup Alley’
California has silicon, Vermont has syrup. Perhaps what you don’t know, however, is that the Northwest corner of Vermont is a hotbed of innovation in the software creation and development business. Guys like Dan possess the brainpower making it all possible.
In fact, we make some of the software that powers the online automotive and grocery industries right here in Burlington. There’s a huge developer community in the Green Mountain State, of which Dan is one of the most dynamic members. He possesses the ability to take difficult to understand ‘tech concepts’, build them into profitable applications and explain the entire process in easy to learn terms (no BS jargon).
Dan spends at least ten hours each day in front of screens, deep inside the code which runs apps that make our lives easier. When he isn’t running algorithms in his head or rewriting the rules of web architecture, Dan likes to ski, bowl, and spend time with his beautiful wife and children. I think he manages to get some sleep on Sundays, but I can’t say for sure if that’s true.
The next time you update your Twitter status, shop for groceries online, or search for a new car on the web, think of Dan. He’s the driving force behind the newest technologies making our lives better.
